Guest Rules
We are delighted to have you join us at The House of KOKO and welcome you as a part of our community. Ahead of your visit, please familiarise yourself with our House Rules which all members and guests are required to adhere to, to keep the atmosphere enjoyable for everyone.
Please be aware that failure to follow our House Rules may result in you being asked to leave, or refused entry in the future. If you are coming as the guest of a member, your behaviour may also affect their membership status. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Membership Team.
Dress Code
As the home of an incredibly creative community, we encourage you to express your individual style. There are of course, a few caveats, which also apply to private events. Entry will always be at the sole discretion of our front of house team, and their decision is absolute.
Be sure to avoid:
Corporate attire (work suits, collared shirts and ties)
Untidy or unkempt casual clothing (such as scruffy trainers, ripped jeans)
Gym or athletic sportswear (excluding sports luxe/luxury streetwear) after 6pm
Beach attire (including flip flops)
Partial nudity
Reservations
A Member’s guest may not enter The House without that member being present, and will be asked to wait in the Reception area until the member arrives. On Fridays and Saturdays, if guests arrive before the member, they are welcome to wait in our Tap Bar or at Cafe KOKO for a drink.
It will not be possible to order food or drinks without the member present. Guests are also required to depart with the member, and cannot remain in The House.
Photography
Our community comes here to relax in private, and discretion is of the utmost importance to us. We have a strict no photography policy and unauthorised photography or filming is prohibited. This also applies to private events.
Mobile Phones, Laptops & Tablets
Phones are permitted in The House, but we ask that they are kept on silent and for calls to be discreet and kept to a minimum.
Laptops and tablets are permitted in Battens and The Stage Kitchen until 6pm throughout the week.
Illegal Substances
We operate a zero-tolerance policy on illegal substances: no buying, selling, using or possession of illegal drugs is permitted.
Smoking & Vaping
An area of The Roof Terrace located on the fourth floor is available for those who wish to smoke or vape. Please do so with consideration for those around you, and properly dispose of your cigarettes when you are finished. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere else on the premises. This includes the use of IQOS devices.
Respect for the House
We want all of our members and guests to feel at home with us, and as such, ask that you treat The House as you would your own home. Much love and care has gone into creating a beautiful environment, so please be respectful of the space and ensure that your behaviour does not affect the enjoyment of others. Any overly loud or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
Noise
KOKO is located in a residential area and we ask that you’re mindful of our neighbours. Please keep noise to a minimum when leaving – particularly late at night. If you are leaving after midnight, we encourage you to order a taxi before exiting the building. Please also be conscious of nearby residents when you’re enjoying The House’s terraces and outdoor spaces.
Respect For Our Team
We are an equal opportunities employer, venue and organisation. We have a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination of any kind, which staff, members and guests are required to adhere to. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated. All of staff, members and guests are entitled to operate in a safe environment where they are treated with respect, and we take our duty of care seriously. Any inappropriate behaviour will be reported to the Membership Team who will follow up with offending parties directly.
Cloakroom
We want you to be comfortable in the House, and ask that outerwear, hoodies, backpacks and large bags are checked into the cloakroom on arrival. Please leave folding bicycles, e-scooters and skateboards elsewhere, we do not have the space to accommodate them.
Lost Property
Anything deposited in the cloakroom or elsewhere is at your own risk. The House of KOKO shall not be liable for any loss or damage to property in the cloakroom – or elsewhere in the building. If you believe you have lost something, please notify us immediately by emailing reception@thehouseofkoko.com. Left items and lost property are stored for a maximum of six weeks, after which time items will be disposed of.
